while i'm on the 80's, if it wasn't for the human league there would be no electro as we know it. the human league was formed in '77 as the band the future with programmers ian-craig marsh and martin-ware pioneering the synthesizers. when phillip oakley joined in 1978 they changed their name to the human league. their first single was "being boiled." equally important back-up vocals by joanne catherall and susan ann sulley were provided for the release of the very successful album, dare. to this day dare is one of my top albums of all time.
